Gruppo Cassetti’s century of care for customers

As Gruppo Cassetti celebrates its hundredth anniversary this year, the company stands as a rare example of continuity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial vision. Led today by Filippo Cassetti – the third generation of the family – this storied Florentine maison has grown from a small silver workshop into one of Italy’s most respected names in fine jewellery and watchmaking.

The story begins in 1926, when Filippo’s grandfather, Renzo Cassetti, opened a silverware atelier beside the Ponte Vecchio, in Costa de’ Magnoli. Attention to detail, direct customer contact, and sensitivity to the local community became the foundation of the company’s philosophy, one that still guides it a century later. After moving production to Scandicci and opening its first boutique on the Ponte Vecchio in 1976, the brand has continued to expand while staying deeply rooted in Florence. Four boutiques currently stand on the Ponte Vecchio, with a new Tudor boutique planned in 2026. Additional stores in via Strozzi, Forte dei Marmi, and Prato reinforce a strong regional presence. The boutiques showcase the world’s most prestigious watch Maisons, with Rolex, Cartier, and Vacheron Constantin among them, alongside high-end names such as Tudor, Jaeger LeCoultre, Omega, Parmigiani, Norqain, Messika, Pomellato, Crivelli, and DeMeglio. These sit beside Cassetti’s own jewellery creations, which preserve the handmade spirit that originally defined the house.

For Filippo Cassetti, the essence of the brand lies in an inherited savoir-faire:

“My grandfather started with a small artisanal production. Craftsmanship is our strong point, but so is attention to customers and to our territory.”

The Ponte Vecchio remains the symbolic heart of this commitment. With a forward-thinking approach, Cassetti was among the first to elevate the offering on the bridge by bringing in major watch and jewellery brands, complementing traditional goldsmithing with a curated, international selection.

Entrepreneurial sensitivity has been key to the group’s growth. Understanding that each major brand needs its own identity, Cassetti was an early adopter of dedicated monobrand spaces, opening boutiques for Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, and, most recently, the Jaeger LeCoultre store in via Strozzi inaugurated in 2024, as well as a store devoted entirely to pre-owned Rolex watches, now a sought-after category in its own right.

“Cassetti’s strength is showcasing a brand’s DNA within our spaces, through our know-how,”

Filippo Cassetti explains.

Their philosophy remains grounded in timeless values: humility, passion, and a deep respect for craftsmanship. Filippo Cassetti recalls his grandfather’s lesson that true artisanal work appreciates over time, becoming more precious as such skills grow rare. This belief fuels Cassetti’s own watchmaking workshop, where master artisans and enthusiastic young apprentices work side by side, perpetuating a tradition that might otherwise disappear.

As millions of visitors pass through Florence each year, Filippo Cassetti sees the future in “tailor-made hospitality,” a blend of artistic excellence and personal attention. After a hundred years, the mission remains unchanged: to serve customers with care, craftsmanship, and the enduring elegance of the Cassetti name.
