The bid secured thanks to teamwork between the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIDAA), the Destination Florence convention bureau, Firenze Fiera, AIM Group International, local institutions, universities and research organizations.
Florence, Sept. 6, 2024 – From the latest aeronautical technologies in the civil and military spheres to the design of prototypes of aircraft, helicopters, and other aircraft, to green research and new solutions dedicated to the sector. For four days, Florence becomes the world center of aeronautics, hosting the 34th ICAS Congress (International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences, which brings together aeronautical associations from 30 countries) from Sept. 9-12, scheduled to take place at the Palazzo dei Congressi and Palazzo degli Affari, where more than 1,000 experts from 41 countries are expected to attend for debates and in-depth discussions. They include the likes of former Minister of Environment and Energy Security Roberto Cingolani, CEO of Leonardo, who will receive the prestigious Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Award from ICAS.
The Congress will provide an opportunity to showcase to the general public and international industry elite the products made and research developed in our country and beyond. Florence’s bid, which managed to prevail over a strong competitor such as Sydney, was won thanks to the teamwork between the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIDAA), the Destination Florence Convention Bureau, Firenze Fiera, AIM Group International, local institutions, universities, and research organizations.
